Yes — Nomzy is free to download and use, with no ads. Saving places, lists, the map, Radar and sharing with friends are free. Nomzy Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited Concierge and Decide Tonight, Snap-a-Menu and the List Builder; free accounts get a small number of AI requests to try them first.

Nomzy is an iPhone app, available exclusively on iOS. It requires iOS 15 or later. An Android version is not currently planned.

Yes. For New York City restaurants, Nomzy shows the letter grade from the NYC Department of Health's inspection results (published on NYC Open Data) right next to the restaurant's name. Press and hold the grade to see the violation score, the inspection date and where it came from, then tap Verify on NYC.gov to check the city's own record. Nomzy uses AI vision to identify restaurants from photos. Point your camera at a restaurant sign, a menu, or import a screenshot from your camera roll. The AI identifies the restaurant name and automatically searches for it in Google Places — saving the full listing with address, rating, hours, and photos. A photo you scan is sent to our AI provider to read the restaurant or menu text and is not kept once the text has been read. Restaurant photos you choose to post are stored and shown to other users, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Create a shared list and invite friends via a link. Anyone with the link can join as a viewer or editor (you control roles). Editors can add restaurants, leave notes, and vote. When everyone's ready, tap "Decide for us" to let Nomzy make the final call based on votes and preferences.

The Nomzy Share Extension lets you save restaurants directly from other apps without switching to Nomzy. When you're browsing in Safari, Apple Maps, Yelp, or Instagram and spot somewhere you want to try, just tap the share icon and choose Nomzy. The restaurant is saved instantly.

No. Nomzy only accesses your location while you're using the app — specifically to show nearby restaurants and calculate walking distance. We never track your location in the background, and your location data is never stored or shared with third parties.

An account is required to use Nomzy, so your stash can sync securely across your devices. You can sign up in seconds with Sign in with Apple or Google.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app. This removes your profile, saved places, visits, lists, photos, taste profile and usage records from our servers, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Nomzy collects what it needs to run the service: your account details, the places, lists, visits and photos you add, any dietary needs you enter, your location while you use the app, the questions you ask the AI features, and product analytics. We do not sell your data. Our Privacy Policy lists everything we collect and the companies that process it.

"Stash" — to store something safely for later. That's exactly what Nomzy does with restaurants. You stash the places you want to try so you can find them exactly when you need them. The name stuck.
